A list of all the Local Groups in and around Hale
During late November into early December, of 2005, the village website was conceived, albeit only with one page of various village images we had rushed out to get with our cheap'ish camera. Early January 2006, the week of the 14th upto the 23rd, is when we went online with our website and domain name "halevillageonline", which was purchased/financed then, by one of our now deceased family members, Mr's A Stephens (1943-2008 R.I.P)!
Above you can see the photo's of the first story we added to the site in January 2006, just after we went online properly.
The photographs show, contractors, on behalf of Hale Estates/Smith Gore performing tree surgery on an old Oak on "their land", in the small wood-copse. It's thought that the tree was unsafe and had to be sawn down. The trunk of the tree is still there to this day in the copse, known as "Hemmings Wood"...
During 2010, and keeping up with web trends, we rebranded the site into two seperate brands, one for tourist information and the other for normal village related news and what's on's.
Both sites, now receive over 300 hits per day from many parts of the world, such as America, France, Africa, Australia, many other countires and, all four corners of the UK.
Having built up the site/s over the time period mentioned, and with the kindness of many people in the village, we have been able to bring and provide an insight into what happens in the village on a daily and weekly basis, which has never been done before! From local landowners and Farmers, to organisers of village events, they have allowed us access to take photographs of their activity or event-to put on the website/s, for others to see, whether near, or far!
We don't want and/or expect any award or, reward, for what we have been doing over the last 6 years, we just do it, because, we love the village our family has lived in, since the late 1920's-early 1930's.
So,,, here's to another 6 years of the website so many view on a regular basis, that keeps them intouch with their birthplace, home or once visited.
Thank you for viewing over the years and may we take this opportunity to wish you a Happy and Prosperous 2012
