Blessing Of The Crib

December 6, 2015

The Blessing Of The Crib took place on Sunday 6th December with around 150 vilalgers and locals enjoying the festivities.

Things started at St Mary's Church, with short service and carols by children from Hale Primary, followed by a candlelit procession from the Church to the Post Office for the blessing. Everyone gathered at the Post Office where the blessing took place, including carols/hyms and prayers. From the Post Office service, everyone then walked down to the Wellington Public House, to await the arrival of Santa in his horse drawn carriage. Only a few minutes had past once everyone had arrived, and then Santa arrived.

Previously, on the Friday, Friday 4th December, the crib was erected by Mal, Ronnie, Peter and Richard,,, and of course the use of John the Post Masters building - the Post Office!
