Weight Limit To Be Introduced On Village Roads
January 19, 2016
Residents in the village will be pleased to learn, that Halton Borough Council are negotiating for a weight limit to be introduced on one of the main roads leading into the village. After two years of campaigning for a reduction in articulated lorry's - and especially Grundy's lorry's using the village as a short cut,,, something is being done.
The weight limit will start from the junction of Pickerings Road - Hale Road in Halebank and finish at the area infront of the Wellington Public House on Town Lane within the village. The new weight limit will prevent lorry's, tippers and articulated lorry's from transiting towards the village and direct them to the Ford Motorway/Route 7/A562.
It is not known what the weight limit tonnage will be, but there will be an exception to lorry's that have business within the village.
Some villagers will be forming their own monitor groups, for monitoring and reporting lorry's that use the village as a short cut on a regular basis.
