May Bank Holiday Power Cuts See Hale Village Without Electricity 2 Days On The Run

Parts of Hale Village have experienced power cuts twice during the May Bank Holiday weekend.
During Saturday evening just after 7pm , the first power outage occurred which left parts of the village without power for upto 3 hours.
Hale News Agents had to close early on Saturday evening due to no power being available for the shop.
National Grid released the below statement during the Saturday power outage...
Your property is currently affected by an unplanned supply interruption in the L24 postcode area of Liverpool, affecting properties in Church End, High Street and surrounding areas. This has been caused by a fault on our electrical network. Our emergency engineers are making their way to site and are aiming to restore your power before 9PM. We will make every effort to keep you updated if this information changes. We are sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience. This message was updated at 7.30PM on 29th April 2017.

The second power outage happened on Sunday afternoon from around 2:30pm, again leaving parts of he village without power.
Only several months ago, Scottish Power have been undertaking an upgrade in certain parts of the village, from a new transformer on Town Lane, to a new unit at the top of Church Road.
Local residents have expressed concern on social media, about the length of the power outages and the concern of older villagers.
