Another Successfull Hale Village Carnival Defies The Great British Weather

Despite heavy rain – which had disappeared during mid-morning, It was all systems go for Hale Village Carnival on Saturday June 10th - as crowds flocked to Hale Park for the 12 noon start.

The que for the entrance stretched back to the Childe of Hale Pub car park entrance opposite the War Memorial

The Carnival was opened by the Lord Mayor Of Hale Village at 12 noon along with the Crowning of the 2017 Rose Queen who this year will be Alice Antonia Moore

There was also the historic Carnival procession around the village, which was headed by the Batala Mersey Drum Band, the outgoing Rose Queen of 2016 Imogen Atkins who rode in a vintage car with the Lord Mayor Of Hale followed by the the newly crowned Rose Queen and her Rose Buds.

During the afternoon, there were lots of activties, in the parkland and in the arena, from Hale School Choir, Fairground Rides, Classic Vehicles on display,Dog Agility Competition, Exhibitors and Craft Stalls, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Tug o War, Birds Of Prey and live music.

Mid afternoon runners took part in a 5K Sea Shore Dash, starting at Withins Way and finishing in the main arena. The Sea Shore Dash/Fun Run dates back to the 1950’s when the village Fete was born out of the Battle of Britain Celebrations of 1951.

Children from Hale C of E School, took part in a design a poster competition, which was won by Ciara Hilton.

Mr Garland of Hale Village won a scarecrow competition, while the carnival’s “Best Kept Front Garden Contest" will be judged in the first week of July.
