Daffodils In Bloom For Spring At The Freemen's Copse Memorial
April 15, 2017
Don't they look great - The 500 daffs that the Freemen of Hale planted, are now in full bloom!
During October and November 2016, the Freemen of Hale Village held several working parties, to clear an area of ground at the Freemen's Copse.
On Saturday 19th November 2016, a group of Freemen headed by the Lord Mayor of Hale, planted around 500 daffodil bulbs in the prepared area.
These daffodils are now visible through the fencing - from the park in the corner - where the Dog Exercise area is located.
The daffodil bulbs were donated by villager - Will Atkinson, at the Wallasey branch store of Wilkinsons/Wilko's.
It is envisaged that further planting and up-keep will take place at the Freemen's Copse.
The Freemen's Copse was planted out in remembrance of the late Mr William Hitchmough - Lord Mayor Of Hale during 1967-1974...
Many thanks to all concerned!
