Airport Safety Expansion Continues
As part of the upgrades to the safety zones around Liverpool Airport - ordered by the aviation authority the CAA - to reduce the risk of aircraft overshooting the runway. the Mound, which is used by aircraft spotters and visitors has been levelled off and closed. The upgrades include the re-opening of Baileys Lane and the closing off - stopping off, of Dungeon Lane to provide a run off strip on the nearby field - for aircraft that may overshoot the runway. Lord Mayor Attends Sea Cadets Awards
South Liverpool Sea Cadets held their annual awards evening with the guest of honour The Lord Mayor of Hale Village. The Lord Mayor inspected the Sea and Royal Marine Cadets before the awards presentations. The Best Cadet and winner of the HMS Conway Club Trophy 2015 was AC Connor. Free Hi Tea In The Village Hall
Organised by the Freemen and Guildswomen of Hale Village - for the over 65's, 100 villagers attended the Hi Tea event in the village hall, totally free of charge. Upon arrival, villagers were greeted by the Lord Mayor Of Hale - Freeman Paul Turton and given a glass of Champaigne. Once seated, Freemen of the village waited on, on the villagers, from serving tea, coffee, mince pies, wine and other refreshments. Wellington Hotel - Proposed Co-op update
New River Retail are to appeal to the Secretary Of State against the planning application refusal, to build a Co-op on the Wellington Hotel Pub - Car Park.
Villagers previous objections and paper work will be automatically forwarded to the appeal. But, those villagers who wish to add further to their objection/s can do so, but have until the 7th of January 2016, that's 28 days!

Halebank Youth Club - Freemen Of Hale Grant
Halebank Youth Club, are to receive a Freemen Of Hale Grant/Donation, towards their outside recreation area, infront of the Youth Club.
The grant/donation of £2000, will be put towards an area of artificial turf/grass, to make it easier and safer for outdoor events. Blessing Of The Crib
The Blessing Of The Crib took place on Sunday 6th December with around 150 vilalgers and locals enjoying the festivities. Things started at St Mary's Church, with short service and carols by children from Hale Primary, followed by a candlelit procession from the Church to the Post Office for the blessing. Restoring The Church Gates
A project is now underway - funded by the Freemen Of Hale, to restore both sets of Latch Gates, at St Mary's Church here in the village. The main entrance - latch gates, have been removed and will be totally replaced with brand new ones, with the original fittings re-fitted. The latch gates further up at the turn-around, will also be renewed!
