Parts of Hale Village have experienced power cuts twice during the May Bank Holiday weekend. During Saturday evening just after 7pm , the first power outage occurred which left parts of the village without power for upto 3 hours. Hundreds of runners took to the roads of Hale Village on Easter Sunday - 16th April, to take part in the annual Easter 5 Mile Road Race. The race started and finished in Hale Park - with the Lord Mayor of Hale Village - Paul Turton starting the race and later on greeting the runners, as they crossed over the finish line. Don't they look great - The 500 daffs that the Freemen of Hale planted, are now in full bloom! During October and November 2016, the Freemen of Hale Village held several working parties, to clear an area of ground at the Freemen's Copse. On Saturday 19th November 2016, a group of Freemen headed by the Lord Mayor of Hale, planted around 500 daffodil bulbs in the prepared area.
